Festival Education Programme

Our annual Belfast Children's Festival returns entirely online from 5 to 14 March 2021.

At Young At Art we believe that every child should have the right to access exciting and original creative experiences, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

We know that the ongoing pandemic has created significant challenges for schools over the past year. We also understand that financial constraints are at play in homes and that there have been huge limitations placed on fundraising activities by schools for extra-curricular activities.

This year in line with government guidelines, Belfast Children’s Festival will take place entirely online. Our 2021 schools programme is jam-packed with exceptional creative experiences for children, young people and the adults in their lives. As the delivery will take place online, we hope that this will widen participation and accessibility for schools.

Please note, due to staggered School reopenings we have extended our programme to take place over the festival period and beyond.  Keep an eye on this page for updates!

The majority of shows now available over the festival period are available for free, widening access during this time.

Take a look at the selection of shows we have available for the Festival period: perfect for Pre-School to P3, all accompanied by classroom resources linked to the curriculum. These are shows that will also work in a digital or home-schooling medium as well.

We continue to support schools and youth groups through a variety of programmes, subsidised ticketing schemes, resources packs and CPD training.
